Evolution is a fact. The theory is the attempt to explain how that fact
works.

.i suspect that it will eventually be replaced by a
developmental theory that recognizes Earth as a single living
system undergoing development toward its natural end state (like
a developing frog embryo eventually turns into a frog, not an elm
tree)

That's your hypothesis.

Michelle,

..there's not much point in our continuing this
..you and i are pursuing different interests
on this subject

..you're defending a theory about theories because
you think i'm undermining it
..i'm not

..i'm on your side
..i'm probably more against religious non-sense
than you are
..i think religions are a form of mental illness
..anyone who thinks their map of their experience
is the one and only TRUTH about how REALITY
REALLY IS is crazy

..scientific method is the best humans have done...
so far
.... and bach... and ice cream

..but i'm interesting in exploring the nature of
knowledge itself and the relationships between
language and thinking/knowledge/etc.
..it is my opinion that the vast majority of human
beings have been programmed with a serious
mis-understanding of the nature of language
and linguistically encoded "knowledge"
..the old way worked adequately for many tens of
thousands of years
..but, the industrial and information revolutions
have created a world that requires a more
sophisticated epistemology
..we are on the verge of a new world
..we're going to have to do better than our ancestors

<end rant>
