Re: Any problem with Micromat TechTools Pro 4.5.3 under Leopard?

Other similar products can generate an ISO file with a bootable image
that you can burn with your favorite program, avoiding the need to
deliver a physical DVD to each customer in every update. So, when you
buy the product, you get the ability to download the upgrades for an
specific period of time (usually one year), without any delivery cost
for the manufacturer. That is what this Company should have done.

In my case, as I said in a previous posting, I have just received from
Amazon a package that I cannot use (Leopard not supported), that I paid
around US $80 for it, that if I want to use I will need to pay an extra
of US $25, but that the Company doesn't say any specific word (at least
up to now) about when the patch will be ready. Nice, isn't it?

I wrote an email of complain to the Company two days ago, and I haven't
received any answer up to now. I will wait a couple of days more, and if
I don't receive any satisfactory answer, I will send a letter informing
of this situation to Amazon.

Yeah, a US$25 update. And I received their product *today* from
Amazon!!!

It doesn't seem a very serious Company!!!

Oh, they're serious alright - about MILKING USERS! How much has really
changed in the filesystem for OSX between 10.4.10 and 10.5.1?... .0001%
??

I could see a $10 download for the upgrade, but $25 for the privilege
of them probably just fixing their programming shortcuts is a bit too
much.

The reality is that you should have the disc in case you need to use it
to troubleshoot a crashed machine.
