I recently purchased a 500GB Maxtor OneTouch Plus external hard drive at Circuit City for $119.95. Maxtor is now part of Seagate so it came with a 5 year warranty. It has both USB 2.0 and FireWire 400 in addition to being rather attractive in appearance.

I recently bought two of the same. They are being used as the Time Machine drives for two iMacs in my household. It's only been a few weeks, so I can't say anything about reliability. I like the fact that they can stand vertically without easily toppling over.
