Has anyone been able to print anything yet?Yes.
I am trying to use a Epson Stylus Photo R800. Photoshop CS3, FilemakerI'm using an Epson Stylus Photo R340. I don't have PhotoPress, but have
Pro
and PhotoPress all crashe when I tell the programs to print.
printed successfully from both Photoshop CS3 and FileMaker Pro 9 -- I
use both apps heavily. I've also printed from Discus, Safari, FireFox,
and Word (I don't think I've found the need to print from anything else
in the few days since I installed Leopard).
Did you have to install a driver?
when I go to System Preferences- print/fax the preference panel shows I have
two printers hooked up to the computer, an iMac 5. If I highlight the R800
and then click options & supplies, General shows the right printer but if I
go further and click Driver the driver is grayed out and when I click Supply
levels I am told that "Information Not Available".
It looks to me as though the Operating system is not recognizing the driver.
This all still seems to be true even though I am able to print from that
printer.
Not only that the crash of Filemaker has damaged the file and I now File
Maker crashes every time I try to open it.
Any suggestions?
Other than sending the crash log and a description of what was going on
to Apple and/or FileMaker, Inc., not really.

I did re install the driver. Now, if I click the printer icon in the sidebar
I am told that "The printer "stylus Photo R800" can not be found in your list
of printers." When I click the "Edit Printer List" it shows the Epson printer
(idle, default) 2nd in the list, but my second printer, the Canon Pixma mini
260 (that is not even switched on) is highlighted. So, I do not know what is
going on here.
As to the other problem I had with FileMaker crashing and my losing a data
file because the file got corrupted, I seemed to have lucked out there. I am
using FileMaker Pro 5.5. I was able to send the corrupted file through
"recover" but it would not open.
Today I downloaded the trial version of FileMaker 9. It did open that
recovered file. As I said, I lucked out.
Thanks All for your help. I lurk on many groups and see some very fine people
populating them. It is nice to know a stranger like myself can go to you for
help.
