Uninstalling XP OS from Parallels

Hi,
I a total Mac virgin, but because I use an embroidery program which
only runs in windows, I bought Parallels.

I cannot use my USB floppy drive with the XP version I have (re used
but now without the SP2- it won't download but crashes the system).
I have tried to clear and uninstall XP as well as Parallels (three
times) but cannot clear enough, as the Mac remembers the OS.
I was very familiar with the OS system on Windows, but don't know how
to clear the Mac.
Any one able to help please!!
