Re: OS X Mail dates?

I've never understood Mail's date system. It says 2006-1-05 and the
time. ??? Then when I drag the column a bit it says the normal date.
Why the 2006-1-05?

And is there any way of getting this system to display a more concise
date? '07.10.19/04:55 would be very concise to inform the reader of
the date of this news message. And take up a fraction of the current
space. Currently its like this:
Oct 19, 2007 4:55 am
I looked in both System Preferences, Date and Time and Mail's
Preferences to no avail.

Date & Time? The key lies in the International system pref. Each
region has a format for date, time, etc. Your computer must be set up
for some European country, where they write the year first. So the
basic formatting can be made whatever you want.

Right. Forgot about International. So logical putting the date
format NOT in the Date area of System Preferences. Even a note in Sys
Pref alluding to International would be logical.

Anyway, where does this 2006-1-05 date come from? Could that be when
I installed the OS? Why is it even appearing? When I see it, it says
to me Jan 5, 2006. But the date is Oct 20, 2007. Huh? The short
version should be 2007-10-20 for today. Or 2006-1-05 for Jan 1, 2006.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize I could drag and customize the
dates so much in International. Very good.
