Well point-and-click is a fundamental aspect of the whole GUI
paradigm as implemented in both Mac and Windows operating systems.
It is pretty good in general but when you are typing away on the
keyboard (as opposed to say "drawing" with the mouse) it can be
annoying to have to move your hand to the mouse and back simply
toggle a control. That is why I still prefer non-GUI apps for
many things. When I am doing email, or posting to Usenet, or
chatting on IRC, or editing a file (mutt, slrn, irssi, vim)
the mouse is pretty much redundant and I can get stuff done
quickly and efficiently using only the keyboard.
