Re: Developer Certification

Has anyone done any? Is it worth it? Does anyone care. There doesn't
seem to be much Mac developer work on the market but maybe for
freelancing it would be good to be qualified. I was thinking
specifically about xcode and possibly Applescript.

I would be interested in a home-based training course if one was
available.

Unless you have a specific client asking for this (and may be willing to foot the bill) just concentrate on being a good coder and getting along with people.

Reading legacy source code and problem-solving are nearly as important as coding skills, or toolset experience.

Certification is important for those clients that have a checkbox that must be filled out. In these cases many clients will help you get that certification if they want you for other reasons.

I'll go out on a limb and say that this specific certification is unnecessary for the majority of current and wannabe Apple product developers.
