As others have pointed out, there are multiple ways, each with advantages
and disadvantags.
Dropping the files in /Users/Shared is probably the easiest. But the
disadvantage is that it doesn't automatically grant write permission to
other users for the files in question. So if you create a file in
Account A, save it in /Users/Shared, User B will be able to read the
file, but not edit it unless User A changes the permissions manually.
That's why this solution is not workable for sharing things like iPhoto
libraries and iMovie projects.
The ACL solution will automatically set the permissions on enclosed files
to be whatever you want. Once set up it is pretty much maintenance-free.
This solution works a dandy for sharing iPhoto libraries between
different user accounts. The disadvantage is that it is a bit of trouble
to set up and somewhat difficult for users inexperienced with the command
line.
To get the best of both worlds, you can store your files on an external
hard drive, and check the "Ignore ownership on this volume" box on the
drive's Get Info panel. The disadvantage is that additional hardware
(the drive) must be purchased.
