Well, it's funny you should say that. I bought a 20" iMac about a month ago, and I reported on this group that I occasionally heard a brief crackling noise - although it does not appear to be related to my hard drive. I thought it sounded like either there was a loose connection internally (I checked the cabling), or maybe some kind of short.

Curious. I wonder if there's some faulty hardware knocking around.
