Re: Azureus suddenly stops

I tried it but it didn't seem to make a difference. Now Azureus is
working sort of OK. Its hard to tell - you don't know if most of the
torrents are just having a slow day or not. I tried Bit on Wheels but
everything seems to move even slower on that.
I'm still getting a NAT error - it says its timing out - but now the
torrents don't stop. Bizarre.

Are you getting a green smiley face with Azureus on your torrents?

Right now, with traffic looking normal, I'm getting the yellow faces
(most are moving), and one is red (not moving).

Are you using private trackers that might cut you off if your share ratio
drops below whatever?

My share ratio should be high as I don't limit the upload speed,
though I do try to stop the torrents as soon as possible as my ISP is
sensitive to uploading traffic. Perhaps that affects the share ratio?
In that I'm not seeding as long as I could?

What ports are you using?

I've tried many different ones and all seem to work. Yet all get a
NAT error. I thought if the port worked the traffic should be normal
and there was nothing to worry about. Guess not.

Are those ports open in your Apple firewall?

I have the firewall up on everything. I thought that if the firewall
restricted Azureus I would get no traffic at all. So I assumed that
because Azureus is working (albeit slow at times) the firewall
settings were fine. Perhaps not?

You've read the FAQ at
<http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Azureus_FAQ> ?

I've browsed a lot of it. And I've changed a lot of setting - none
helped so far. I've tried to set any limits to 0 which should equal
"unlimited".

Sometimes speeds change but its hard to correlate those changes with
my changed settings unless the changes are dramatic.

Are you using Airport? <http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/NATPMP>

Nope. No wireless.
