Just out of curiosity, can you be a little more specific regarding
"older white iBook G3 models?"
I bought my white iBook G3 (dual USB)in August, 2001 so it is a fairly
early one and has an external reset button above the AV port.
It has a RGB video output port and a Composite video output to TV
through AV port.
It came with two cable adapters: an Apple VGA Display Adapter (included)
and an Apple iBook AV NTSC Cable for Audio/Video Mfg Part: M8434G/A
which added $19.99 to the cost.
The included Apple VGA Display Adapter The other is a 6" round cable
with a VGA connector on one end and a small rectangular connector on the
other that fits into the rectangular port between the AV port and the
USB ports. I use if all the time to connect an external 19" Dell CRT
monitor.
The Apple iBook AV NTSC Cable for Audio/Video is a 6' white 3-conductor
cord with R-W-Y RCA connectors on one end and on the other end a
connector that fits into the AV port. It provides composite video and
16-bit stereo sound for connection to a TV etc. I have used it many
times to connect my iBook to my Hitachi 53" rear-projection tv. It works
fine.
Is mine one of the 'older iBooks' that you referred to?
