Hi gang,
I'm a Solaris geek by day and my coworkers convinced me to get a mac
since they all use them and love them. So I got a used ibook from a
guy but failed to get the core login users password even though I'm
using it right now. Is there a way to recover this/zero it out?
sudo commands won't work since I don't have the password. Maybe boot
from a system disk like in Solaris? I haven't rebooted this ibook
yet because I doubt I'll be able to get back onto it if I do. Thanks
in advance.
If you boot from the installation disk, you can reset the password from
there. Exactly which menu to use depends on which version of the OS you
have.

Thanks for the info. To boot from a CD/DVD, is it as simple as
putting the disk into the drive and rebooting? Do ibooks try to boot
from the DVD drive first? I'm eager to learn.
Hold down the "c" key while rebooting.
Or the "option" key if that doesn't work!
