Re: Remote control and disk diag suggestions

Ok, so here's what I've gotten...

Remote desktop - Timbuktu or Apple's Remote Desktop

Disk utilities - defrag not needed (which is what I suspected). Disk
Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro is suggested in some cases.

Here's what prompted the question...

I'm a IT consultant who has mainly focused on Windows (add hisss here)
and recently have taken on a large amount of Mac and Windows mixed
clients. I actually enjoy working with the Mac more than fixing Windows
boxes (although cleaning Malware does help the pocketbook). So one of
my Mac clients reported some hard drive issue. First thing I did was
make a quick backup, then I ran the Apple disk util, which I have been
told is all I need. I just thought that there might be other utilities
that I should look into, just in case.
He also wanted to remotely manage his iMac from the road.

Thanks to all for the replies. I will look into the utilities
suggested...and of course I will steer far clear of ANY Norton
"utilities". It's interesting that Norton makes questionable software
for both Windows and Mac.

Thanks.
