I have a Mac Book pro, and was wondering if there is any thing I should

want to know if there is anything to do for a really clean install.
Thanks,

I have had this question "answered" by other posters. The "di-hard"
never want to admit that the Sysrem can get corrupted and needs
re-installing. Sure you can go to unwarrented trouble making your Mac
"bullet proof", but why bother ? The normal Mac user can't or is not at
all interested in techniques required to "bullet proof'.
SO, for us normal Mac users, reloading System should be a regular
occurrence. Most times it is carried out in OS updates, but other root
and Unix operating programs need refreshing. Beware of "freeware"
utilities which don't follow Mac quidelines when written- use them only
as the "last resort".
The main concern when reinstalling is deleting wanted information.
Doing a complete "clean" installation involves completely erasing data
from the hard drive. You need to SAVE any files to another hard drive
before doing this. This should only be done as a "last resort" when
major faults in the hard drive occur- this usually means that the hard
drive is on its "last legs" and needs replacing.
A normal re-instal will SAVE System files in a "previous System
Folder', so wanted files and Preferences can be retrieved. I find this
a good way of eliminating Preferences , iPhoto and iTune files. You can
stikk retrieve these files when reloading iPhoto and iTunes if needed.
You can SAVE Prefernces and internet settings by setting this Option
when Reloading from Sysrem Disk.
Hope helps,
