There are other products, such as xkeys, and commercial products
as well. Some 3rd party keyboard drivers (that come with a 3rd
party keyboard) also allow mapping the Fn keys.
Also on a laptop where F1-F5 have monitor brightness and sound
control functions, you need to hold down the 'fn' key to get the
Fn capability.
