OSX + Ubuntu, Boot options is gone...

Hello!
I have a PowerBook G4 and installed OS X Tiger and Ubuntu 6.06 on it.
And Ubuntu set up a boot manager and it worked fine.
Yesterday, I booted it up into Tiger and installed some applications
like X11, XCode, and etc.
After that, the boot manager doesn't come up and it always boots into
Tiger.
Something must have removed the boot manager.
What caused it and how can I prevent it?
TIA.
Sam
