I installed the trial version of iWork from the CD which came with
Tiger. Everything works fine, and the manual is there as a PDF file.
But I'm puzzled: The manual file is named something.app. However,
doubleclicking opens it in Acrobat, so it's obviously a PDF. But it's
named *.app. Now, as it's obviously a PDF file, I tried to renamed it to
*.pdf. Just typing in the new extension in Finder didn't work, Finder
added that .app by itself, and the new name was *.pdf.app. Now I tried
to rename in the info window. This worked, but now, the file wouldn't
open in Acrobat anymore! "A system error occured." Renamed the file back
to .app, and it opens again in Acrobat.
I just don't understand this. Can somebody enlighten me?
Stefan
Somehow I suspect that it may be an application, not a .pdf file. If you do a
Right Mouse click on it, do you get the option to Show Package Contents?
