I am trying to install OS X (either 10.3 or 10.4) on a 2-3 old Macs --
an ibook300, an iMac333, and a b&w PowerMac 400. These systems have
relatively small HDs (6 gig, 10 gig, 10 gig), and so I'm thinking of
trying to wipe the HDs clean and install OS X only. Obviously, that
would maximize HD space. But is going with OS X only a foolish thing to
do?
Most of what will be done on these systems is word processing, e-mail,
and web browsing; I was just looking for more stability than OS 9 has
given.
How much RAM to the machines have? Anything under 512 MB is going to be
nasty with OS X, unless you only really need to run one app at a time.
