HELP! "Permissions denied"

Help! Something went wrong with my local network connection. I can no
longer connect to other computers on my local network via WiFi. I used
to be able to connect from PowerBook (OS 10.3.9) with Airport card to a
G3 (OS 9.2.2) connected to a Belkin 7230-tt4 router. Now I get "no
response from Server" when attempting to connect with IP address or
computer name.

If I ping address I get "Permissions denied". Have no idea where to even
look... let alone resolve permissions issue. Network seems to be
configured properly and PB User is allowed Read/Write on G3.

Print server pings and works OK which printing goes thru WiFi connection
to print server etherneted to router.

My gut feel is that something that one would have to use Terminal to
fix. Unfortunately... this is an area that I know little about.

Someone please HELP. I need my connection back... Jim
