I am new to usenet. I apologize, it's easy to let frustration get the
best of you.
Here is what I have done so far.
Initially I installed CS2 on my mac I'm running 10.4.5 on a G4 with 512
MB ram.
The install didn't give me errors and took about 30 min. After the
install I tried to get my updates for all the apps. Only about 2 of
them worked I don't recall which ones. So I tried to run Photoshop. It
came up very slowly but I was never able to click on anything because I
had the spinning color wheel. I then received an error that said
something like "Serious Error: Please reinstall Adobe Creative Suite
2". I uninstalled the software, and attempted to reinstall it. The
attempt failed. At that point I decided to call adobe.
Adobe had me enable to "super user" account, and install the software
in "safe mode". It was installing fine so I let them go and proceded
on my own without them. After the install, I rebooted the computer and
logged back in under my normal account. I tried to run photoshop
again, I received the same error and the app behaved the same way
starting it up.
I logged back in as the "super user" under "safe mode". I decided I
would try to run photoshop while logged in this way. All apps ran with
no problems. I uninstalled the apps from my computer, and then
installed only photoshop. Before and after the install of photoshop I
repaired disk permissions. I logged out of the super user while in
safe mode and logged in under the normal account. I tried to run
photoshop. It ran with no problems. At another point trying to do the
same thing it didn't work. I also was able to run photoshop under the
super user account once without being in safe mode. But that only
worked once.
At no time has acrobat 7 given me a problem, it's the only app that
worked no matter what.
I would try to reinstall the OS, but at this point I don't have an
external HD to back up my info.
Thanks, and I apologize again. I don't mean to be inconsiderate.
