Thanks for the thought, but I'm talking about a pronounced staccato
popping sound...not a hum, buzz or anything like that. Definitely a
transient pop (maybe you could call it a click). Comes from both stereo
channels in unison.
My machines are all on UPS. In the case of the Quicksilver, nothing I
can think of has changed as far as what's plugged into what, and the
iMac is new and on a totally different circuit that's powered from a
totally separate breaker box at the other end of the house.
There are no radar stations or newly placed cell or other antennas
anywhere near my house. As far as I can tell, there have been no
environmental changes at all. Also, the sound starts shortly after
waking or restarting the machine and continues until I sleep or shut the
machine down.
