I see and hear about this all the time.
The easiest solution is the following rule, "No food and no drinks to be
near the computer system at any time".
Completely dismantle the unit.
Clean thoroughly by swishing extensively in a big laundry sink, make sure
the modules are completely under water and that the water is warm. DO this
two or three times, using fresh water each time.
Allow to dry for 3 days with a fan, blowing on the logic boards, hang them
from something. Heat is not required.
If it still fails to work after reassembly, something got fried.
