While most people will prefer to use one of the third party graphic FTP
packages (some of which are free), you can also easily update web sites
without any additional software. The built in command line FTP has full
upload facilities. You can easily script it from Terminal by using a
Here document. I update my web sites that way. Only takes a few
minutes to write a Here document (a simple list of command the FTP must
use), for each site, so it is worth doing for anything you repeat more
than a few times.
