Consider yourself assured. iTunes actually began life as a 3rd-party MP3
player and still serves quite well in that capacity.

It's not, actually, but I'd still agree that it's probably not a
suitable solution for you. While it's not really tied to the .Mac
service, it seems to me to be a little too hard to deviate from the site
design it defaults to.

Several. Command-line FTP built and a few GUI tools available
after-market.

The software you'll need is included. You would need something that gets
the signal in in the first place, though. Just about any digital
camcorder on the market would serve, and be useful in its own right.
