PB 17" (Oct 2005) always shutting down by itself

My new (Oct 2005) 17" powerbook often tries to shut down all by itself
(without me telling it to).
Most of the time one of the applications will stop it - but it is
annoying.
Any ideas why this could happen?
(Both mains powered and battery powered)
