partationing OSX disk on the fly

Hi,
Does anybody know if there is any software equivalent to 'Partition
Magic' on the PC that will enable me to repartition the HD in my Mac
Mini without having to trash the current OSX setup and start again ?
When I had a PC, it was quite easy to do this and then install a copy
of NetBSD or Linux. I looked in Disk Utility, but don't think I can use
it to achieve this.
However, this does not seem quite so straightforward on a Mac - and
I've kind of given up on Virtual PC, as it is agonising watching it
crawl along......
Any ideas ?
