I have been using OSXvnc as my MacOSX VNC server for so long that
I continue to use it out of habit. Not that it solves your
problem, but it does give you an alternative as a VNC server you
can run on your Mac.

And while you did not ask, I use Chicken of the VNC as my VNC
client on the Mac, just in case you want to control on of your
other systems from your Mac.
