I don't buy the argumenet that supporting System 7 sound files would,
necessarily, make OS X more 'bloated.'

Well, given your assumptions, yes. One doesn't know if this is why Apple
dropped it or not, however. I doubt that's why.

Again, I don't buy your assumptions. That's OK, though. You think it's
reasonable for Apple to drop the old sound file format, and I don't have
a problem with that.

I don't disagree. My objection was to the many people who jumped on this
guy's back for expecting to be able to do something he's always been
able to do.
