Correct so far.

Yes. You are not done.
Your Mac Mini is still trying to talk to the ADSL modem using PPPoE. It
is not connected to the DSL modem any more. It is connected to the
router. Routers speak DHCP, not PPPoE. You need to tell your Mac Mini to
use DHCP instead of PPPoE. You do this by opening the System Preferences
and clicking on the Network pref pane.
Once you have done this, you need to instruct the router to talk to the
DSL modem using PPPoE. You do this by opening a Web browser and surfing
to the address of the router. The address of the router varies depending
on who made it (what brand is it?) but it is usually http://192.168.1.1 .
Once you are at the router configuration screen, you need to instruct
the router to use PPPoE (and you will have to put in your PPPoE username
and password).
Be aware that you may get poor performance with an Internet phone if you
use ADSL. The "A" in ADSL stands for "asynchronus." In English, that
means that the ADSL modem has different upload and download speed. The
download speed is very fast, but the upload speed is not; in fact, with
some ADSL service, the upload speed is no faster than an ordinary
telephone modem.
Cable modems and SDSL have high speed upload and download, and are the
preferred alternatives for doing anything where your computer must
transmit lots of information to the Internet.
