I have a website with thousands and thousands of pages and countless
links, some pages have hundreds of links. I've never encountered
anything similar to what you're describing.

Without trying the page for myself and looking at the source code, then
I can't even begin to speculate on what could be causing such an odd
problem.

Is the page created with MS Frontpage by any chance?

Are you using DHTML for something? Does the problem still occur if you
turn OFF javascript in Safari?
