Hello,
I compiled an application (Qt Designer) and installed it in the /usr/local directory. This application works with documents with an extension ui. I would like to start this application when I double click on such a document. Is this possible when the application is not installed in the Applications or Utilities directory ? I can't fix it...
Thanks in advance,
Navigate to one of your documents. Do Get Info on it. Look on the resulting panel for the words "Open with" and click on the triangle next to it to see an expanded list of possibilities. You'll see a pull-down menu for applications. Use that to navigate to your compiled application. Then, under the phrase "Use this application to open all documents like this" click on the Change All button.
Yes, but I can't seem to navigate to the usr directory.
I only have the following directories in the "Choose Other Application" window:
- Applications
- Developer
- Library
- plugins
- System
- Users
the usr directory isn't listed.
Kind regards,
Gerry .
