dealmac.com currently is showing that new Dell 17" LCDs are $180 each.
At that price I am tempted to buy two and hook 'em up to a G5 Powermac,
(probably a used one). Can anyone tell me if the older 1.6 GHz models
will run dual monitors out of the box, or do I need to buy a video card
for the second monitor?
thanks in advance.

My G5 1600 Desktop which must be the lowest model has 2 outputs on its nv5200 gfx card.

You just have to check "Specs" of G5 you plan to purchase staying away from PR pages of Apple, they are mostly in developer.apple.com
