Mojopac's a great piece of software that helps me go mobile with my

Also try Knoppix: http://www.knoppix.org (http://www.knoppix.net for
english speakers.). You can download a complete operating system with
web browsing and office productivity tools for free and put it on a CD
or USB device. I've booted it off on both PC's and Intel Mac's,
specifically a MacBookPro. It leaves the hard drive untouched by
default. It's the basis for a number of portable environments.
There's an entire book "Knoppix Hacks" by Kyle Rankin describing just
some of the things you can do with it.

I couldn't find out if Mojopac depends on the system files on the
local computer you plug into or not. If it does, there is the
possibility that you could still be subject to keboard loggers and
other malware embedded in the host computer you use. Since the
_entire_ operating system boots off of the CD with Knoppix, you don't
have to worry about that. In fact, Knoppix, in conjunction with other
software tools, has been used to safely check out and clean up
computers with hard drives so badly infested with malware they
couldn't boot.
