I really don't see how this follows. Take Larry's doctor analogy: if a
doctor is not very good at prescribing appropriate medicines, people
will keep coming back to him until he finds them an appropriate remedy.
Of course, after time, they may realise it is hopeless and seek other
doctors.

Somebody has already pointed out that a lot of those people do not come
of their own accord but are sent by their employers. And to be honest,
even if I wasn't interested in the material presented at the conference,
I'd still appreciate a holiday in San Francisco!

People develop for Macintosh for various reasons. Perhaps the most
important one is that they see a niche in the market that they can fill.
Their feelings towards Apple do not have to be positive, but if they
find they are battling against hopeless odds, they will leave.

Nobody here is saying that Apple's support for developers is hopeless
but rather that it could do with some improvement.
