Too bad. I wonder if they will reconsider in light of all these ISPs
dumping binaries, or like Roadrunner dumping USENET altogether. Folks that
were happy with the meager binaries offerings by ISPs might be prime
candidates for such a basic plan. I think I'll contact Supernews anyways.
I've had a good grandfathered plan with Giganews for years but really do
not make use of it.
Just so you know, quite a few of us who had used and were very happy
with SuperNews from years dumped them right after Giganews took over.
The original SuperNews was great at blacklisting a lot of spam (I never
saw one of those M15 posts, for example), but Giganews lets all that
crap through. There was also a weird specific issue using MacSOUP with
Giganews, but I can't recall the details.
It probably had to do with the fact that Giganews scrapped the Supernews
servers, and moved services to their own servers, which are configured
not to allow filtering of all but the most basic headers.

E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM
filter. Due to Google's refusal to prevent spammers from posting
messages through their servers, I often ignore posts from Google
Groups. Use a real news client if you want me to see your posts.
