But did you know Microsoft Office does exist for Mac OS X? In fact, if
you hurry and do it before January 14th, you can purchase Microsoft
Office 2004 Student & Teacher Edition for Mac OS X (Amazon has it for
just $130), and Microsoft will send you Microsoft Office 2008 Special
Media Edition (normally $500) for FREE
Just had a look at the web site as I'm shortly going to change from
Windows PC to a Mac but I see that it's for Canada or USA only :-(
Post a question in microsoft.public.mac.office asking if your country
can participate. I seem to remember a recent discussion there about
other countries participating in this promotion.
In New Zealand, they are offering a similar promotion, but with one huge
difference:
If you buy the Student & Teacher edition of Office 2004, your "free
upgrade" is only to the Home & Education edition of Office 2008.
The only way to get the "free upgrade" to the Special Media Edition is
if you buy the Office 2004 Standard or Pro edition (or an upgrade from
an earlier version).
