Explanations and suggestions, please. Thanks, PP
I would suggest you also need to learn about why cross posting is good,
and why posting the same question to multiple groups is bad.
Cheers,
Chris
A typically smug reply from a computer nerd. It's very simply,
actually Chris: cross-posting is useful because those reading the UK
group won't necessarily read the worldwide group and those reading the
worldwide group will not necessarily read the UK group. Note that this
gent's sole purpose for replying was to rap me over the knuckles. He
is far more interested in scoring brownie points with fellow nerds
than actually sharing what he might know with others. Actually, Chris,
dear heart, why is 'posting the same question to multiple groups is
bad'? Is this a given? One of life/s constant. Or are you simply a
prat?
Two reasons:
If you cross post and someone answers the question then the answer will
normally appear in all the groups in which the question was posted.
If you cross post and someone with a good newsreader reads the question
in one group then he will not see the question in another group and will
thus save time.
