Ipod Problem

Regarding my 4th Generation ipod. I recently had some problems
(clicking sound) and replaced the 20gig drive qith a 30 gig drive. It
worked briefly and then stopped charging, the wheel would freeze up,
etc. I restored/formatted the drive. I bought a replacement battery
when it continued to freeze up and that charged briefly and then
drained and died right away. I then bought another replacement battery
thinking that one was defective and everything seemed OK, although it
said it had fully charged (using USB cabeled wall charger) I
recognized that the battery icon was at about ¼. I then charged over
night and the battery drained completely and now it's completely dead.
It wont even work at all even when plugged into the wall. I took it
apart reseated all the cables, etc. and it's still dead. It's driving
me nuts! Thank you for any input.
