I am taking delivery of my Macbook tomorrow. I have bought the Black
version. I have a few questions:
1. It comes with 512MB of RAM and I intend to upgrade. Is the differential
between 1GB and 2GB worth doing?
2. I have bought it without any software (can't afford it until next
month!), what killer applications should I buy? (I do lots of digital
photography and writing).
3. Are there any (preferably freeware) applications t enable me to use my
PSP and PocketPC?
Thank you very much - in the weeks I have been waiting for the cash to
arrive I have bought magazines and a book, I'm now busting a gut to get my
hands on it!
Thanks,
Gary
For images, the MacBook comes with iPhoto, which is a very good image
catlaog with modest editing capability.
GraphicConverter is a must have shareware app (about $35 US) that does
lots. Very useful. See

TextEdit, AppleWorks, Pages are excellent for writing. TextEdit comes
with all OS X Macs.
