BTW, most folks here prefer that you do not top-post.

Would you like some cheese with that whine??

I am so sick of people on newsgroups having so little of a life that
they have nothing better to do then to push post etiquette. GET A
LIFE!! If you don't want the message on the top why don't you send
Google Groups a message about them putting the cursor there by default,
because I refuse to move it. And I PREFER top posts when I'm reading
so you **** out of luck!

Suggesting that many newsgroups prefer bottom-posting, and have since the dawn of time is hardly whining. Methinks you doth protest too much.

Too bad if it makes you sick. Get used to people suggesting it. If it bothers you, you are free to change your attitude or ignore the advice.

USENET is a participatory forum. A modest amount of trimming and adherence to a minimal ad hoc standard for replies is hardly any real hardship. It certainly is not my problem if you are too lazy to move the heavy, heavy cursor all the way down the many fathoms to the bottom of the reply. Those pixels can be such a chore.

I find it highly ironic that the information you ask for that prompted my reply (i.e., OS X workgroup settings) would have been pretty easy to find in your reply if you had taken a few moments to read through the previous message. If you _had_ bottom-posted, it is likely you would have noticed the workgroup details at the _bottom_ of the message. This would have resulted in less blown gaskets on your part, and less time wasted for both of us.
