I visited the Curious George Movie website and downloaded the two Mac
screensavers, but I don't know what to do with the files after I've
unzipped them.

The files can be found in the Downloads area of the website
http://www.curiousgeorgemovie.com/index2.html
(It's a Flash-driven website, so dial-up or data-capped users shouldn't
waste their time.)

I've tried putting them in various Screensaver folders and using the
Preference Pane (Mac OS X 10.4, iMac G3 and G4) to pick a folder
containing them, but they don't do anything and the screensaver window
says there are no images.

Does anyone know what to do with the files to get them to work?

From Apple Help:

1. Put your pictures in the Pictures folder (in your home folder).
2. Make sure they're all saved using the same file format (for
example, JPEG, PICT, or TIFF). Use a graphics program (or Preview, in
your Applications folder) to save your pictures in a new format if
needed.
3. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Desktop & Screen
Saver.
4. Click Screen Saver and select Pictures Folder in the list.
5. To use pictures in a different folder, click Choose Folder to
select the folder where your pictures are stored.
6. To make choices about how the pictures are displayed, click
Options.

Exactly *what* in Anony-mouse's post made you think the screensavers
were pictures, and not screensavers ? "Eek-eek-eek!"
And no, I didn't get them to work, either
