You're confusing two different DST threads and two different Marks. You
responded to Mark Dintenfass, who's also the Mark quoted in the previous
post and who initiated the thread in the other group referred to here.

Which was started by _another_ Mark, who is well known for generating
confusion, and who went from complaining that Apple didn't allow him
to disable DST handling in the first posting, to suggesting that Apple
not bother to code to follow local DST laws by post 22, to ranting
about an apparently non-existent bug in post 47.
No problem. Compared to my usual hang-outs, this one seems remarkably
troll-free. But I guess they get into everything eventually. :-)
