I got a directory on my external harddrive where I cannot see the content anymore (it says 0 files), not in my finder nor in the terminal. At the beginning I thought I erased them indeliberately in a half-asleep moment, but then I discovered that they are still there: files of which I can remember part of the names are found when I look directly for them in the finder (with the "FIND" function).
So, they are just "invisible" for me. Does somebody know what happened and how i can have a full view of my files again?
By the way: I got a Powerbook G4 with Mac OsX 10.3.9.
Heike, there used to be a "Utility" called "First Aid" in older versions of the OS, maybe something like that is still part of MacOSX.
It seems to be a typical problem with external drives, once saw several people occupied with a solution, but I forgot how they did it.
