Has anyone tried this device for VHS to DVD transfer; and for TV with a cable box ??

I would be using it with a Mac mini, and Comcast/Motorola cable box. Personal VHS tapes, not pre-records.
Mostly casual TV viewing, occasional capture

Comments, opinions ??

Works fine for VHS transfer and cable - you can adjust the quality of audio and video. When you record the transfer to DVD you will lose or get partially dropped or scrambled closed captions because of the fact that the transfer is not real time. With a MacMini you might be a bit light on processing power, so don't overtax the video and audio quality adjustments - use standard or experiment to see what works best. Hope this helps!
