Access to the "special" keys may not be possible (or the keys may not exist, of course) unless you get a Mac compatible keyboard, or one with OS X drivers. There are a lot out there.

Also, I love working with a trackball, but I wonder if there might be a
problem doing so if the control software is non-native? Kensington is pretty
non-committal so far as to if their Mouseworks software (that controls their
trackball) will be developed to produce a native (universal) version. I'm
wondering how much it matters. I'm new to OS X.
