Ah...
I wonder about the "plonk" announcements. I used to do so, but then
realized that I would be unlikely to stand in the middle of the room at
a party or other social gathering and yell to the assembled that I was
no longer going to pay attention to anything "X" said.
If I wasn't going to do it in real life, why would I do it on usenet?
So I don't announce my "plonks" any more. I just plonk, and move on.
Life is quieter, calmer, and I don't deal with nearly as many idiots as
I used to.
