I'm suddenly getting this error tryin to download email. Anyone know
what this means?
It is likely that your system is hosed. Somebody else recently had the
same problem, and in that case the only way to fix it was to reinstall
Mac OS X with "Archive & Install".
To verify that yours is the same problem, please open Script Editor and
enter this in an Untitled Script:
get POSIX path of (path to "temp")
When you now press the Run button, the result panel at the bottom of the
window should show something like
"/private/var/folders/BS/BSiVeUiD2RWd6E+8ZN0Fo++++TI/TemporaryItems/".
Now open a Terminal window and type
ls -la "/private/var/folders/BS/BSiVeUiD2RWd6E+8ZN0Fo++++TI/TemporaryItems/"
(with your result, not mine, of course), what's the output?
