A 5 character password is exactly 40 bits, so there is no munging
of the value to create a 40 bit hex key.
I tried both passwords like "Ab1cd" and "12345", no go on either.
First, make sure the sharing works without security. Try the set up with no security and get it working. Then add in security. Forget WEP as it can be cracked in 10 min or less. Instructions have appeared on the net for some time. Use WPA-PSK as it is more secure. Any reasonable PeeCee can support WPA so it should be compatible.
Forget WEP it is more trouble than it is worth in mixed environments!
