Re: cd with terminal to external drive

Easy question, I'm trying to use terminal to navigate to files on an
external hard drive but can't get any higher up the hierarchy than my
hard disk. I can, apparently, get to servers on the local network (I
can go from HD to Network to Servers, then back to HD), but not to an
external hard drive (iomega on firewire).

Can terminal not navigate off the startup disk or am I missing
something?

/Volumes e.g. if your disk is labeld "fred" "/Volumes/fred".

If it is not labled, it's probably "Untitled".

you can find it with "ls /" or "ls /Volumes"
